Poop water splash gif12/28/2023 They said they would have to put me on the callback list for central booking. I took this chance to distance myself from runners on the shoulder and call the hotel about late checkout. There was a water stop, medical tent, and we saw Jaq. On the ramp there was a high school cheerleader team, then we went under Epcot Center drive going north on World Drive towards MK. MM6 (623a) was on the overpass on top of World Drive, which we were going down a circle ramp to get on to. There was a DJ truck and then I ran by a live-streamer for the local ABC news channel. Passed MM5 at 610a just beyond a water/powerade stop, and there was a medical tent shortly thereafter. I saw Carissa Galloway getting into her car and leaving. There was an army of people dismantling everything and loading up trucks. Turned right onto Overpass Rd, left onto Epcot Center Drive, passed MM4 at 559a, and then by the corrals, which was a strange feeling. We went left by Mexico and then offstage to Avenue of the Stars heading by backstage Test Track. We cut across to the central causeway leading to World Showcase, saw Phineas and Darkwing Duck, and the Harmonious barges were light up again with fountains flowing. There was another DJ truck and a water/powerade stop before MM3 (547a) where we turned left and went onstage between the Land and Imagination pavilions. There was a DJ truck near the bus depot, and then Jiminy Cricket just before Avenue of the Stars. If ignoring the pain of running up and down these overpasses, I like these parts of the course because you get to look down on a sea of people like you, enjoying a Disney run. Passed MM1 at 523a, then made a tight hairpin turn (again, I HATE these), and then down a circle ramp to go underneath Epcot Center Drive to Woodpecker Lane.Īfter a pretty boring mile I passed MM2 at 534a going up the circle ramp that takes you to the westernmost Epcot parking lots and bus depot. The first mile had a water/powerade stop, Pluto, and the Mad Hatter. They started the first runners a little early, I think around 455a, and we slowly moved up after each wave until my turn to start at 511a. Check out his Facebook page here: /PuppetRunner He runs a lot of races in various costume/puppet combos. So, I was excited to see him and we talked for a minute. I also saw him during the Dopey 2 years ago but missed him at the Wine and Dine last November. I got to Corral S4 around 434a, and immediately saw PuppetRunner, someone who inspired me during my first Disney Race with his costume concept. Met my friend Jen by the finish line at 359a, and a few moments later joined Scott and Lauren on our way to the corrals. In front of Spaceship Earth taking some photos at 344a. Grabbed coffee at Everything Pop to go with my Clif bar, and in line for the bus at 322a. This is one of the most moving songs for both of us because of our Cancer experience with then-DS2 it was sort of our song for “that time”. This time I used some lyrics from “Go the Distance” from Hercules. The day officially began with the alarm at 300a, got dressed and put out DW’s anniversary card #3 and a clue to the first surprise this evening. First, I would really have to run hard to get back before 11am… And second, DW had brought her work laptop with her… Terrible planning on my part! Contender for the worst Liner fail of all time right here! Anyways, on with the story… I slept like poo the night before because I realized at some point early on that I had forgotten to request a late check out! Oh yeah, spoiler - I was surprising DW with a split stay at AKL and would be moving our stuff over via bell services without her knowing it (surprising her at the end of the day). It was also the day of the biggest surprises I had in store for DW, the climax of my plan. Today was the big day: Walt Disney World Marathon day, and conclusion of the Dopey Challenge.
